How To Authentically Grow Your Instagram Following

By now you all know that Instagram, known as the “Queen Of Social Media”, is one of the most useful and important platforms to use in order to market your brand. The importance of having a large following on Instagram can mean more potential sales for your business and more engagement with your brand and/or blog. That is why today I am going to give you 6 great steps to increasing your Instagram following:

1. Post Consistently

It is so important to post at least once a day to keep your page active and your viewers interested. If you can post two to three times a day you will have an even better chance at engaging your followers. Do not post more than three times a day, otherwise you run the risk of annoying your followers.

2. Use Less Popular & Quality Hashtags

Using less popular hashtags will create the opportunity to get your post into the “Top” section. It can be tempting to use the easy and most popular hashtags that are just simple words but these hashtags have millions of posts, and they won’t do a lot for your account’s visibility and growth.

3. Ask Your Followers To Interact

Posting something where you can ask or incite your followers to tag a friend, like the post, or comment, will drive a lot of traffic to your post and indirectly to your page. This is a great tactic to getting new followers.

4. Tag Brands & Popular Pages

Tagging brands and other popular pages in your post can direct a lot of viewers who follow those pages to your post and your page. Make sure that you tag brands and pages that are only relevant to your post! You can tag up to 20 pages at a time.

5. Engage With Other Users

Check out your followers’ pages and show an interest in their posts. Like and comment on other page’s posts. Reply to comments on your posts when you can. The more you engage with others, the more they will engage with you – all bringing other traffic your way!

6. Geotag Your Posts

If you are posting a photo of that cool new bar, or museum that you recently visited? Make sure that you geotag it so that when other people who use or search the same geotag can see your post, and from there - potentially follow your page.

Try out the steps and let me know how they work for you!
