Real Wedding | Barbie & Hastings

I know it sounds cliché, or like something people say to clients when trying to suck up to them, but Barbie and Hastings genuinely became like family to us. They are the type of couple I really hope I am meeting for Saturday afternoon champagne sessions for the rest of my years. I have never had a couple trust me creatively and put all their faith in me and my ability to design – and that is the best gift I have ever received.

Having that level of complete trust truly allowed us to play around and even make changes to their wedding design on the day. That is something that would freak most other clients out, but Barbie so calmly told me to do my thing and it worked out for the absolute best. We were able to produce some of our best work and create a true magical fairytale for this amazing couple.

As a South African wedding planner in Johannesburg (and Cape Town), we don’t often get the creative freedom that weddings planners in California, New York or London would get. And so when we do get that from a client, it is extremely precious and special to us.

Barbie and Hastings came to me when they searched online for the best wedding planner in South Africa, and our company came up. One of the biggest things Barbie loved was something that she called the Red In Paris Event’s signature style: doing the centerpieces on a raised mirror round, with flowers coming out of the bottom of the mirror. That is definitely a trend and style I am happy to have started in South Africa, and it is so wonderful when clients acknowledge certain things like that as your “signature style”.

Another signature style of Red In Paris Events is creating suspended floral chandelier centerpieces. We were so happy to incorporate this centerpiece into their wedding. It is always so elegant and unique.

An amazing wedding for an incredible couple!
