Real Wedding | Sherene & Colin

I really enjoyed planning and styling Sherene and Colin’s wedding. Sherene is one of the humblest, and lovely brides I have ever had the chance to work with. Her calmness throughout the wedding planning process really allowed me to focus on the important aspects of planning the wedding, and to creatively produce beautiful work. It was like a breath of fresh air.

Something I learnt through Sherene and Colin, which I was so dead set against before this wedding, was that a bride and groom’s “first look” is actually the best idea in the world. When Sherene brought up that her and Colin wanted to have a first look – I tried to almost sway her not to do it. I have always been convinced that the tradition of the groom seeing the bride for the first time walking down the aisle, was the best way for the wedding.

I have completely changed my mind after this wedding. I witnessed Sherene and Colin’s first look, and I have never in my life seen such a beautiful, intimate moment of love between two people. It wasn’t just that these two people loved each other in an extraordinary way (even though they do) – it was that it was a moment that was about them, and only them.

There were no family members. There were no friends. It was a special moment that they shared between themselves and only themselves. The raw emotion experienced was absolutely phenomenal.

As a wedding planner - after planning and designing so many weddings, you always think that there is nothing further you could learn. But I am always pleasantly surprised that with each wedding I gain a new insight or some sort valuable lesson. I definitelt learned a valuable insight from Sherene and Colin’s special moment together. An insight – or moment – that I will never forget.
